Company Background – Sweet Inspiration Chocolate
Sweet Inspiration Chocolate began trading in the 1992 in Sag Harbor and Manhattan, New York.
From the first box of chocolate, and for 20 years, Sweet Inspiration Chocolate Products have continued to be manufactured in the USA. The products have sold in Europe, Asia and throughout the USA in luxury departments stores, gourmet markets and as a co branded retail gift line.
After years of retailing in Sag Harbor and Manhattan, the Company began to focus its energy and resources into developing a line of product that could eventually serve a much larger customer base and enhance their brand name with a long shelf life product line.
Amanda Hunter, Founder and Managing Director
Entrepreneur and nutritionist, Amanda Hunter created the company’s Pure Belgian Chocolate while developing a line of health bars in England. Previously Ms. Hunter developed, manufactured and sold the first granola in Europe, trading under the brand, CALIFORNIA REVIVAL.
The health bars sold throughout the UK for 18 years and are still available in some northern regions of England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. The health bar trades as “KALIBU, The Kadillac of Kandy Bars.”
Returning home to the USA , Ms. Hunter developed Sweet Inspiration Chocolate. In 1992 The Company opened the first of two Chocolate CAFÉS in Sag Harbor, New York and Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Sweet Inspiration won overwhelming critical acclaim and raised the bar for traditional American Chocolate. Ms. Hunter thinks a large part of the Company’s success is its commitment to using only the finest Belgian Chocolate, to make their fine quality, chocolate gifts. Ms. Hunter designed the classic packaging that SI customers return to over and over during The Company’s nearly 20 years of chocolate making.
In 2004, Ms. Hunter created a new line: Belgian CHOCOLATE WISHES. This product line is now the backbone of their production and sales, with the customer base stretching throughout the USA. The appearance of SI’s Chocolate Wishes on QVC for Valentine’s 2006, set the scene for the line to come West. Amanda Hunter has moved the Company to Dominguez Hills, California and in Spring of 2009 product will begin shipping coast to coast.
